Stephaney is the latest single from Fallacy of Fairness, the very well received 2021 album by Vancouver, Canada-based band, Girlfriends and Boyfriends. The full length is now on its third pressing via Dirt Cult Records.
The band explain the concept and intent behind Stephaney: "The song is a tribute to a friend we lost from the Vancouver community in 2017. Stephaney had a kind and creative soul. She touched the lives of many people, and is greatly missed."
The song is accompanied by a visually impressive video created by Wayne Moreheart, characterized by its lively and skillful editing, primarily featuring beautiful outdoor scenes. Stephaney brings together a solid synthpop base with strong elements of post punk and eloquently expressed darkness, resulting in a rather gripping outcome.
