Since it first appeared online, Destroy//Exist has essentially operated by this tagline.
After a full decade of ambiguity, social and political instability, economic turmoil, crazy/incompetent governments, war, and disease, it has become even more apparent that music is a haven and one of the values in life on which one can unequivocally keep relying.
D//E kept going and survived the chaos.
The Pains of Existence, a new digital compilation from Destroy//Exist, arrives to herald the start of the website's ten-year celebrations. Both before and after the site's anniversary which falls on January 1st, 2024, we plan on making these two years a little bit more special.
What is Destroy Decade?
A series of special posts, Destroy Decade is created in collaboration with a group of amazing musicians and record labels. It serves as a virtual celebration of Destroy//Exist being ten years online and is composed of new digital compilations, live performance clips, full live sets, creative visuals and more.
At the time of the album's publication, twenty of the thirty-three tracks included in this were previously unreleased. Eleven champions from the previous release of ours are returning, while twenty-two acts are making their debut on a D//E compilation.
The commendation coming from both the artists and the audience is moving beyond description. Writing and creating content for Destroy//Exist is significant motivation to start the day.
On a personal level, I would like to extend my gratitude to all those who contributed to the realization of The Pains of Existence. Our objective is, and always will be, to create something which has value and will endure.
Sharing part of this poem by TS Eliot feels appropriate; a poem of existential value which expresses a yearning for something beyond the surface, a desire for a greater understanding of meaning and purpose, and a quest for absolution and salvation.
