Saigon Blue Rain: Oko

Saigon Blue Rain, the Parisian songwriter duo of Ophélia Lecomte and Frank Pelliccioli, have released a single and accompanying video for Oko, the title track of their newest album, out of IcyCold Records and Manic Depression.

The track comes carrying eighties coldwave and darkwave characteristics, with a dark club-ready sound, and wonderfully implemented elements from dreampop and shoegaze, while the very well made video provides a shifting framework for the various sentimental realms with its merging of hard and fast cuts.

During various stages of sleep, the oko (Czech for 'eye') closes to make room for our dreams and submerged nightmares. When memories of youth are making one last push to give way to sinful desires at dusk, it's a moment we both anticipate and fear.
