Melbourne/Naarm-based shoegazers, Oceans, prepare for the release of their anticipated debut full length, Dreamers in Dark Cities. The album is set to come out on March 24th, 2023, through Shelflife Records, and it's introduced with the tuneful shoegaze pop of first single, Pure.
The band's album focuses on the concepts of solitude, isolation, and the detach which results from being away from one's beloved for a long time, and the first example from it does a successful job of interpreting those themes.
The core, the songwriting, and the execution of the song all exhibit a strong sense of nostalgia and idealism, and Oceans' trademark indie nineties attributes are once more audible. All of these elements combine to create something endearing and expertly built.
