Coalesce, the new single from Orlando-based dreampop outfit Processions, has been released on Spirit Goth's subsidiary label, BirthDIY. The new song was composed and recorded in the summer of 2021, and it is coupled with the previously unveiled Acquiesce. Both compositions were written by Phil Alfonso, the artist behind the Processions alias.
Coalesce is a wonderful addition to Processions' catalog, showing the project's clear preference for tunefulness and dreamy, surreal aesthetics. It leans toward classic dreampop with its lo-fi qualities all out, and has a propensity for a more palatable sound and songwriting manner.
