Absent In Body is a new band featuring current and former members of Amenra, Neurosis, and Sepultura. The project announced the release of their debut album, Plague God, expected through Relapse Records on March 25th, 2022.
Plague God possesses the same ideals of cohesiveness and unwavering sincerity as the new acts' respective bands, all of which have naturally gained the underground music community's adoration and respect via their innovative sound and artistic development.
The Acres/The Ache, the band's first single, is an adventure in immense heaviness and sentimentality with a cutting edge.
Mathieu Vandekerckhove comments: “We had not imposed any limitations or boundaries on ourselves to create this music. Everything happened without any compromise, we gathered and let inspiration run freely. It is the beauty and the strength of this album.”
Iggor Cavalera comments: "It feels great to collaborate with such forward-thinking minds like Colin, Mathieu, and Scott on AIB. The music is dense and slowly brutal, very similar to the times we are living."
Absent In Body are Mathieu J. Vandekerckhove (Amenra), Colin H. Van Eeckhout (Amenra), Scott Kelly (Neurosis) and Iggor Cavalera (Sepultura). Plague God was recorded and produced by Tim De Gieter at Much luv studio in Belgium, and mastered by Jack Shirley at Atomic Garden in the US.
