New York duo Winkie have just released their new album, Here Comes Success, through Dying Machine Records, and it's an absorbing mix of shoegaze, post punk and darkwave properties.
This Place is Death is the embodiment of good use of distortion, and something which goes even further to prove itself as a twisted punk track, representing the album's overall darkness and energy, as well as the band's perception of genre amalgamation, without excessively complicating their creative approach.
The track is paired to an enigmatic video which captures the music's intimidating atmosphere, and leaves the viewer slightly puzzled, yet, gratified from the prominent artistic quality and the deviousness of Winkie's craft.
