Crush: So Strange

Manchester shoegazers, Crush, continue to follow the same creative path paved by their recent single, Chewed, based on equal amounts of noisiness and atmospherics. So Strange is a melodious dreampop track warped by a heavy shoegaze twist.

It’s a dialogue in the first-person addressing anxiety in a cathartic defiance of the emotions that arise from it,” describes singer and guitarist Amber Warren. “A bulk of songs written since the pandemic began have been heavily influenced by DIIV, My Bloody Valentine and the Cocteau Twins, as well as artists such as Phoebe Bridgers,” she mentions, and adds Blur as one of the main inspirations for the band's new approach.

Crush are Amber Warren (guitar, vocals), Arthur Boyd (guitar), Will Milton (bass), Fotis Kalantzis (drums).
