Converge & Chelsea Wolfe: Blood Moon

Converge are back, and they have brought good company. Bloodmoon: I will be the band's upcoming collaborative album created together with Chelsea Wolfe and her bandmate/writing partner Ben Chisholm, as well as Cave In vocalist and guitarist Stephen Brodsky. The project has its roots in 2016 when the seven-piece performed at Roadburn festival under the name Blood Moon.

I feel like everyone just kept the music in mind and wanted to do what’s best for the song,” says Stephen Brodsky. Chelsea Wolfe adds: “The project stretched my vocals in new ways. It’s so different than what I normally sing over that I was able to open up and be vulnerable with my vocals.

Our dynamics are pushing and pulling in all different directions on this record, and I find that to be creatively rewarding,” Jacob Bannon concludes.

Spine-chilling and immensely heavy, the eight-minute track Blood Moon oscillates between dark lyricism and  extremity, and it has already earned a place among the finest moments in the canons of everyone involved.

Bloodmoon: I was produced by Kurt Ballou, and it comes out on November 19th, 2021 (CD/Digital) via Epitaph Records, and on June 24th, 2022 (vinyl) via Deathwish.
