A little after the extreme grit brought by the first pair of examples off their coming album, Oslo's The Uptights reveal another side of their act, this time with a dark slow burner. Although somewhat more discernible than the band's previous offerings, new track IIFTTTLT doesn't let up on the distortion.
The title track to It Is For Them That The Lights Twinkle sees the band steering toward a cleaner direction, without leaving behind the reverb and the fuzz which make their lo-fi, shoegaze-bent noise rock and post punk sound stand out.
It Is For Them That The Lights was recorded to cassette between 2012 and 2016, mixed in mono and mastered by Christian Obermayer, and it will be out in its entirety on June 25th, 2021.
