CHIVVY: Red Water

The Swedish band which has previously started as The Tape and played stages around Europe, is now gearing up for the release of their first album as CHIVVY, and turn their focus toward a more dynamic, massive and dramatic dreampop sound which is very well presented through the first single, Red Water.

The fresh song's theme draws from the concept of captivity and escape, a notion which can be connected with a few grave issues such as animal rights or human captivity, whether that's on an individualistic level or it has to do with society's ideals. Primarily, the song speaks of freedom, and despite the apparent wistful approach in the songwriting, and the band's impassioned delivery, it ultimately gives every indication of something inherently optimistic.

Red Water is out through Novoton, and it comes with a beautifully choreographed video starring Åska-Saga Persdòttir Sivik.
