Blood From the Soul is the spawn of the ferocious metal extremity of Napalm Death's Shane Embury who founded the forward thinking industrial metal project alongside Sick Of It All's Lou Koller in the early nineties. The band released their debut, To Spite the Hand That Bleeds, on Earache in 1993, and now return from slumber with a new all-star lineup which includes Embury together with Dirk Verbeuren (Megadeth, Soilwork, Aborted, Tronos), Jacob Bannon (Converge, Wear Your Wounds, Umbra Vitae), and Jesper Liveröd (Nasum, Burst).
DSM-5 will be the band's forthcoming concept album which explores dystopian themes, written from the point of view of humans as well as conscious machines, and thematically it leaves plenty of room for it to be adjusted to today's overarching uncertainty. the album is introduced with the Godflesh-meets-Converge-like intensity of first track, Debris Of Dreams.
