Waive Your Share IV // Bandcamp Friday Strikes Again


There is a good chance that this is going to be the last Bandcamp Friday in a while, and both artists and fans seem to be making the most of it. In the tradition of the previous Waive Your Share lists, we handpicked a few of the releases we thought that stood out more prominently on July 3rd, 2020, the last of the previously announced dates when Bandcamp waives its revenue to support artists in the aftermath of the Covid-19 pandemic.


10. Nadja: Thaumogenesis (Live)


Experimental act, Nadja, made available a live, 48-minute version of their absorbing 2007 piece, Thaumogenesis, recorded April 11th, 2011 in France.





9. Lambchop Tour Box


Lambchop put out a massive 86-song live anthology which dates back to the late nineties and is composed of an overfull of eight different formerly self-released CDs which were sold during shows on tour, and as a part of a limited box set.





8. Corn On Macabre: Live on WFMU 05.02.02


Dark Operative released a rare radio session by extreme punks, Corn On Macabre, from 2002 when the band was active; the same time when released their only two EPs. Live on WFMU is a very nice accompaniment to the band's concise catalog.





7. Sumac: St Vitus 09​/​07​/​2018


Forward thinking metal supergroup, Sumac, released a live session at St. Vitus from two years ago, a clear showcase of the strength found in their live act.





6. Marissa Nadler: Moons


Consistently present and always creative, dark folk songwriter and singer, Marissa Nadler. released another enjoyable set of fine, relaxing and elegant songs with a nocturnal approach.





5. Draag: Secret Menu


Los Angeles' psych dreampop band, Draag, unveiled an anthology of unreleased and rare recordings from 2017 to 2019, and make it available for a limited time.





4. Andy Bell: Plastic Bag


Sonic Cathedral released Andy Bell's atmospheric debut solo single, Plastic Bag, on a very limited run of just 100 copies.





3. Cold Showers: 07.13.19 Part Time Punks


For their latest Part Time Punks session recorded in 2019, a little after the release of their acclaimed album, Motionless, LA's Cold Showers offer a variety of newer and older songs.





2. Bush Tetras: Boom in the Night (Original Studio Recordings 1980​-​1983)


Influential NY no wave act Bush Tetras released their compilation, Boom in the Night, available for a limited time through Wharf Cat Records.





1. And So I Watch You From Afar: Successors


Successors is a three track EP whose songs were recorded during the sessions of the Belfast experimental post rockers' 2015 album, Heirs.
