REPAIRS: Pop Song

New Zealand post punk trio, REPAIRS, seem to be on quite a creative roll these, since on their third single for 2020 they sound as straightforward and effective as ever, this time taking an even darker and moodier direction.

Pop Song follows Cut to the Chase and Last Chances from the previous weeks, and in all its outspokenness it sounds nothing like what its title suggests. Instead the song is an irritable post punk grabber which balances cacophony with resonance in an overall euphonic result. Thematically the new song is a frank way for the band to deal with a sort of an imposter syndrome, and a reminder of what is usually the aim in the majority contemporary music.

Pop Song is also the opening cut of the band's recently announced debut album, Repeat, Repeat, expected to come out on September 18th, 2020.
