True Body: Spirit City

Fresh off a recent collaboration with SRSQ, Virginia-based post punk act, True Body, emerge with their new single in a very impressive manner. Spirit City is part of the upcoming debut album, Heavenly Rhythms For The Uninitiated, expected to be released on April 3rd, 2020 via Funeral Party Records.

Fronted by Isabel Moreno-RiaƱo, True Body's immersive post punk sound is drenched in alluring darkness, and heightened by an open minded songwriting approach which reaches the grounds of nearby genres, such as synthpop, dreampop and hardcore punk. Spirit City exemplifies those tasteful characteristics quite accurately, and introduces what already feels like a blooming debut full length for the Richmond outfit.

Travis Waddell's visual for the new song looks like a very good match to the strong melancholy and dreaminess that the music carries.

Heavenly Rhythms for the Uninitiated was recorded and mixed by Jeff Ziegler (The War on Drugs, Kurt Vile, Nothing) and mastered by Mikey Young (Total Control, Eddie Current Suppression Ring).
