Cherry Slide is the alternative rock project by New York-based musician, Dale Humphries.
Shoegaze overtones combined with elegant jangle pop/dreampop sounds, amply instrumented, very sharply produced and performed with obvious warmheartedness, resulting in a lush, multiform sound, evocative of much of the cultivation the genre introduced in the nineties. Expect a fine fusion of strong qualities that derive from influences like the agility in Smashing Pumpkins' guitar-driven sound, My Bloody Valentine's love for the distortion, as well as the more lo-fi character of Swirlies' first couple of records.
The entire album does not hold back any of that riveting shoeagzing energy, which is best highlighted in standout track, Eyes Like a Blur.
Cherry Slide's self-titled debut album is out now digitally and on limited edition cassette via Being Records.
