Callow: Always About the Ones Who Have it All

Callow is an avant-garde folk duo from San Francisco, formed in 2009 and comprised of Red Moses and Sami Knowles. Their upcoming third album, Mothdust, comes out October 19th, 2018, and it is preceded by lead single and opening track, Always About the Ones Who Have it All, mixed by Brandon Eggleston (Swans, Mountain Goats) and featuring Black Heart Procession's Pall Jenkins on musical saw.

Based on the concept of escapism, utterly insightful and fueled by sentiments of detest toward the greediness in contemporary society, the song is a force of dark energy that skillfully combines its folk character with a stripped down doom metal approach, slow burning for six harrowing minutes, and deftly fluttering between serenity and stimulating agitation.

Not easy to categorize nor to digest, Callow's instinctual, genre fusing, exploratory sound grows and burns more brightly with each listen. This comes from the heart, it demands its audience's undivided attention and it's worth experiencing thoroughly.
