A fresh post punk act out of Los Angeles, Personality Cult is the project of artist and songwriter James Clifford. The self-titled debut EP is due out on June 1st, 2018, introduced by the striking single, Decay.
More inclined towards new wave, and nodding to beloved acts like New Order, The Human League and Depeche Mode, Decay is a dazzling number which despite its brevity, it comes out strong and doesn't hold back on the intensity it communicates throughout its entire duration. The song's impeccable production makes excellent use of the fineness in those synths, the memorable guitar lines and the driving electronic percussion, a compound that puts across the sullenness in Clifford's writing, and sounds consistent and promising.
