D//E Premiere: I Hate You Just Kidding: Dreamcatcher

Husband and wife songwriting duo, I Hate You Just Kidding, started in 2009 s a folk pop act that later evolved into a more intricate combination of alternative rock, dreampop and shoegaze. Until 2011 the band put together a full length and two EPs, and after a five-year hiatus they are set to return with a new album and a refreshed lineup.

The band's core of Jeremy and Jessi Brock is joined by musicians Kevin Manwarren and Roxy Radulescu (of TUFT), and Greg Anderson (of Fellow Bohemian) to comprise a full band roster for both the stage and album.

Dreamcatcher which streams for the first time ever right below, is a sweetly lethargic piece; a three minute dreampop song that gives us a good hint on Constellations, the band's upcoming album and its matured, yet, still melancholic and alluring character.

"Dreamcatcher is about waking from a bad dream and finding comfort and security in your partner and your surroundings," describes the band, and adds: "This is actually one of the first songs we ever wrote together, back in 2009. We wanted it to have this kind of drowsy and dazed tone that turns into a euphoria. It mimics that confusing state of a nightmare dissolving into immediate consolation, and falling back to sleep before you even fully wake."
