Pink Milk: Awakening of Laura

Swedish duo, Pink Milk, provide a grabbing, hazy blend of glittering goth-pop, shoegaze and dreampop, which overflows with darkness and endless reverb.

The band cites among their sources of inspiration the paranormal and the occult, eighties' music and contemporary art. Consisting of Maria on vocals and drums and Edward on guitars and bass, Pink Milk began in 2015, and after gaining the distinction they deserved among fans of the genre, the duo is now ready to unleash its debut album.

Purple, is coming this Fall on Black Hair Records, and the first single off it, Awakening of Laura, inspired the ballet Awakening of Flora from 1894, is "a song about passion and body lusts," as the band describes it. It is a charming example of the band's adroitness, a both grainy and sparkling dreampop piece overlaid with additional seductiveness and magnetism.
