Before their decision to reunite in 2012, the last time the world had heard about Young Pioneers was some thirty years ago when they disbanded in 1987. Having kept three of their four original members in their lineup, the Olympia, Washington punk pop band is back with a brand new record on the legendary K Records, produced by Calvin Johnson.
The new album, High Again, was recorded at K Record’s Olympia-based Dub Narcotic Studios and despite the fact that Young Pioneers are not in their youth anymore, their new work emerges like a mighty fine representation of their agitating style and excellent musicianship which they never had the chance to lay down in the form of a full length before this.
