Austin's Leather Girls have just released their debut self-titled album via Yippee Ki Yay Records, a set of thirteen songs that toys with psych-punk grit and energetic rock 'n' roll. The album has already sprung a couple of notable singles, overflowing with organic sixties garage punk merit and revealing a lot of promise for the up and coming quartet which so far has shared bills with incredible acts like Holly Golightly, The Dictators, Mr. Airplane Man and has become a favorite show partner with their fellow Austin excellents, Ringo Deathstarr and Holy Wave.
Arabian Daze, a prominent single and album highlight, makes an impression upon first listen, as it approaches with reverence and exemplifies a much beloved genre with confidence and style, just like the rest of Leather Girls' raw and bright debut.
Leather Girls is Erik Camacho (guitar and lead vocals), Mike Garrido (guitar and vocals), Dillon Fernandez (drums) and Deborah White (bass and vocals).
