Afar is the freshly formed solo project by Windfaerer gutarist, Itay Keren (or I.K.) from New Jersey. Afar's debut album, Selfless, has been released just recently, consisting of seven quite lengthy tracks of rich atmospheric black metal that thematically leans more towards DSBM, however, despite its immense darkness and the coldness of its beautiful cover, the album can be rather cathartic at moments and convey some tiny bits of hopeful optimism, that maintain the balance between gloom and light.
On Beckoned Into Fog I.K. is joined by the vocal talents of his Windfaerer mate's M. Gonçalves and J. Aversario of Death Fortress and Dethroned Emperor.
