A couple of years after their debut, Youth, Citizen sound like they've done some serious growing up on their sophomore record, Everybody Is Going To Heaven, produced by Will Yip.
Not that there was anything wrong with the old Citizen, but this heavier and much darker side they're showing on the new album, can definitely become more appealing to more mature, adult audiences and fans of shoegaze or even grunge. The 2015 Citizen put out a bold and brave release, leaving in the past as much of the spoiled pop-punk of their early days and replacing it with sweet melancholy and thrilling, cathartic heaviness.
