NYC no wave pioneers, Live Skull, will unveil their new album, Party Zero, via Bronson Recordings on May 26th, 2023. The album's latest single, Hit So Hard, is another captivating track which presents an intoxicating journey into the depths of darkness.
Infused with a mix of enticing melodies and melancholic tones, Live Skull's new material sounds alive and vibrant, and embodies the relentless energy which defined the New York post punk sound of the eighties. Bringing together noise and tunefulness, the band's refined blend creates a mesmerizing and psychedelic experience.
Live Skull's Mark C comments on the track: "At the start, Live Skull seemed more obsessed with the politics of personal relationships than politics at large. Sometimes conflating the two. As the final track on the politically charged Party Zero, Hit So Hard weighs in on the personal side with a promise to never go quietly into the night."
Party Zero was recorded at legendary Deepsea in Hoboken NJ by Mark C. and mastered by Fred Kevorkian (Iggy Pop, White Stripes).
