Letting Up Despite Great Faults: Halfway Crooks

Letting Up Despite Great Faults return with Crumble EP, a new four-song release, arriving on April 4th, 2023. One year after the very positive reception of their album, IV, the band follow the same creative paths, and introduce their new offering with the bright dreampop of Halfway Crooks.

Halfway Crooks takes inspiration from a seemingly unlike source, Mobb Deep's Shook Ones, Pt II from 1995, whose lyrics mention that there aren't "such things as halfway crooks." The metaphor is really about relationships and how they would only hold true if both sides are completely committed.

Halfway Crooks, a three-minute song which is as melodic as Letting Up are known to be, highlights Annah Fisette's vocal performance, and demonstrates Mike Lee's songwriting acumen as the group once again confidently exemplifies their musical competency.
