Hubris Cannon: Ravages of War

Hubris Cannon, from Atlanta, Georgia, emerge with a powerful sound which deviates from extreme metal tropes, and makes extensive use of hardcore, grindcore, crust, and sludge qualities to create something truly intense and impactful.

Summer, the band's most recent six-song EP, is a force of dark, raw, metallic power, with a generally nonlinear approach to songwriting and a very emphatic overall sound, and themes which draw inspiration from the MTG card game. Hubris Cannon's intensity is compressed into dense cuts full of despair and severity, all wrapped in a layer of post-apocalyptic discomfort.

Ravages of War, the EP's longest track, is a three-and-a-half-minute force that doesn't let up on any level.
