Sombre Lux is the enigmatic project by Oregon producer, Jordan Jacks, who creates industrial-bent cinematic electronica of the very dark and moody kind. Self-described as "part man, part machine," Sombre Lux has to offer something which can't be put in plain terms, but it's definitely absorbing to explore.
New EP Machine Arcana finds Sombre Lux fully harnessing the post apocalyptic qualities embedded in the artist's musical genes by way of mostly brief ideas which leave room for further procession. Consisting of nine tracks and clocking in at 23 minutes, Machine Arcana is an exhibition of dark minimalism and modular synth grasp, while its sci-fi nature merges with the artist's stark aesthetic like an intense, lucid dream.
