Rise NYC: Rock 'n' Roll Manifesto (Remix by Genesis Breyer P-Orridge)

The first release from the newfound Los Angeles-based record label, World Domination Records, a division of World Domination Pictures, is a work which involves too many A-list underground musicians, and it's something overall impossible from which to look away.

Rock 'n' Roll Manifesto was originally conceived in 2004 but wasn't released until July 2021, and it can easily be considered a lost gem which luckily sees the light of day many years after its initial inception.

Rise NYC are Shelly Ebner (vocals, bass) and Die J! Mars (vocals, guitars, programming), and their experimental goth electronica takes a dub direction in the capable hands of the late Genesis Breyer P-Orridge. Rock 'n' Roll Manifesto (Thee Majesty Hip Dub Mix by Genesis Breyer P-Orridge) is an imposing slow-burning piece, produced by Jim Sclavunos (Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds, Teenage Jesus and the Jerks) who also provides live drums, and engineered by Peter Mavrogeorgis (Michael Gira's Angels of Light, Tav Falco's Panther Burns) who's also on live keyboards.

The track is included in the upcoming film, Mister Sister, which is having a world premiere at TCL Chinese Theatres (Hollywood) on September 12th, 2021 as the official closing night film for the 24th Dances With Films.

The track is paired to a lively B-side, a dance pop/funk cut by Binary Starr System, conceived in 2007, unreleased as well, and remixed by David J (Bauhaus, Love & Rockets, Tones on Tail) who also added his own bass playing.

A set of rather inventive and unconventional songs is being unearthed, pulling from a range of differing styles, bearing a sense of classicality but also sounding much ahead of its time.
