NORMANS: Anti Crusoe

Anti Crusoe is the first release by Los Angeles based band, NORMANS, composed of Matt Reid (Blonde Summer) and Michael Perry Rudes (FEELS), and it's a somber post punk venture with western Americana overtones, and a lot of moodiness.

Bringing to mind archetypal rock crooners such as Iggy Pop and Nick Cave, the song bases its strong effect on Reid’s poetic, immediate and very well crafted lyrics which "explore issues of violence, drug use, and the terrified animal caged within us all." Anti Crusoe communicates distress and glumness, and it makes a delightful first listen.

It's a solid and noticeable start for a fresh band with much experience and a fine projected future, as NORMANS' tough to define blend of post punk, noise rock and surf rock seems like a thing of high standards with more to offer.
