Local H: Brandy (You're A Fine Girl)

Justifying that the connection of alternative rock with good old pop rock can lead to very appealing results, and that the art of a good cover version requires tact and skill, Local H deliver their own version of the 1972 classic Brandy (You're a Fine Girl), originally a #1 hit for Looking Glass.

Frontman Scott Lucas explains: "Started doing this near daily streaming thing on Facebook during quarantine--because what the fuck else was I gonna do?--and it was basically just a bunch of oddball covers. I was watching Ozark on Netflix and they had this episode that featured Brandy. My girlfriend turned to me and said 'You gotta cover this song!' So that's what we did."

Local H are fresh from their latest album, Lifers, which was produced by Steve Albini. Brandy is part of their third covers album to date, appropriately titled Local H's Awesome Quarantine Mix Tape #3, which will also include covers of songs by Blondie, Prince, Fountains of Wayne, Mark Lanegan, The Kinks and others.

Local H's Awesome Quarantine Mix Tape #3 releases October 8th, 2021.
