Genial, summery shoegaze with a dose of grunge, comes by way of LA dreampop band, Fime, who follow their 2019 EP, Sprawl, with the new standalone single, Born 2 Love. The band is composed of Beto Brakmo and Maxine Garcia both of which relocated from the Bay Area to Los Angeles, along with drummer and synthesist Eric Promani, and former Jerome’s Dream/Sea Wolf guitarist Scott Leahy.
“We just wanted to make a sweet love song,” the band comment on the new track which evidently achieves its aim. Born 2 Love was produced by Melina Duterte (Jay Som, Bachelor) and mastered by Andrew Oswald, and it comes with an exquisite road-trip-like video captured by Beto Brakmo in Japan, Indonesia and parts of New Mexico and Texas.
Just as euphonious as it is gritty, the new single by Fime is their first offering for 2021, and something which further evidences the band's progression.
