With a very impressive sound which leans mainly on the first wave of black metal and combines elements from thrash, doom and speed metal, Richmond, Virginia's Plaguefever unveil the title track of their upcoming album, Crude Implements.
Quite a long while after their demo which came out in 2012, Plaguefever return sounding more edged and realized, presenting a style of songwriting which homogenizes a few similar genres, holds in high esteem its evident influences, and at the same time appears entirely inherent. The levels of extremity are at the highest, while lyrically the band appropriately explore themes of darkness and despair. Early Bathory, Celtic Frost and Venom semblances elevated by an excellent production result to a very engrossing, extreme listen.
