Nadja: Luminous Rot

The great Nadja return with a new album expected out on May 21st, 2021 through Southern Lord. The title track of Luminous Rot finds the band's art more densely structured than ever, and leans closer to the shoegaze aspect of their droning atmospherics.

Multi-instrumentalist Aidan Baker and bassist Leah Buckareff's aim on their new record is to come up with more concise and more approachable style of writing compared to the exploration and complexity for which they have been primarily known.

Luminous Rot brings another dear name in the group of contributors, and becomes the first album mixed by someone else; the great David Pajo.  "As big fans of Slint, we thought he might fore-front the more angular, post-punk elements of our music - the mix is quite different from our previous albums," the band comment. "But, as usual, we had James Plotkin (Khanate, OLD, etc) master the album as we trust his ears and aesthetic, as he's mastered numerous records of ours."
