D//E Premiere: VAZUM: Werewolf

Detroit deathgazers, VAZUM, have recently released their Halloween concept album, Rated V, a dark and fun record of fairly lengthy compositions, consisting equally of shoegaze heaviness and atmospheric dark ambiance.

The album draws influence from classic horror movie monsters and traditional folklore, as well as the band's keenness on Halloween horror scores and their overall grim aesthetics. The first single and video for the song Vampyre from a few weeks ago, is followed by another dark visual for Werewolf.

"The video came about on a walk through a local park," says VAZUM's Emily Sturm. "The woods had a strangely built den under an up rooted tree and a wooden wolf dog sign. The red and blue colors were done by using the lenses of 3D glasses and an led light. Also the wolf howl 'sample' in the song is me howling."

Rated V has been out digitally since October 1st, 2020, while a limited 2 CD set edition of the album from the band's Bandcamp page, featuring stereoscopic 3D artwork created by Emily Sturm and accompanying handmade 3D Bat glasses.
