Processions: Fate

Fate, the latest single by San Antonio act, Processions, involves a few familiar names from the world of underground and lo-fi shoegaze. It is a cover of a song by Foliage, originally part of the 2017 album, Truths. It was recorded and mixed by Phil Alfonso, and mastered by Daniel Knowles (DIIV, Cigarettes After Sex, Amusement Parks on Fire). Processions' new take on the track will be part of the upcoming compilation, Friends Covering Friends, by indie label Z Tapes.

Very true to the original's jangly power pop sound, Procession's version of Fate comes with much esteem for Manuel Joseph Walker's songwriting, while it also carries the characteristic mistiness of Procession's own take on dreamy shoegaze.

The new single follows Processions' late 2109 album, Blush, and another cover, their recent take on Ventriloquist, a song by Canadian lo-fi act, Fog Lake.
