Acritarch is the solo project of Dr Brooke Johnson, also known for the cinematic industrial black metal of The Axis of Perdition and other projects. Through the Acritarch moniker Johnson explores his own autism, depression and other aspects of neurodiversity, while channeling the industrial monotony and the bleakness of the genre's past, specifically from the early nineties.
Inevitably the sound of Acritarch draws comparisons to the likes of Godflesh, Head of David, Fetish 69 and the overall rawer and darker side of industrial metal, and it remains consistently absorbing both conceptually and musically.
Empty Vessel is the latest EP by Acritarch, composed of the original track of the same name, and a remix of the title track from last year's The Dark That Stains Us All LP.
