Wishing is the latest single off the coming double album by Birmingham, Alabama psychedelic dreampop band, Wray. Stream of Youth / Blank World comes out in its entirety on June 5th, 2020 through Earth Libraries.
"This song came from many attempts to build something out of a single melody; the chorus," the band reveal. "We tried different rhythms and ideas on verse. It always wanted to be dark, poorly lit, overtly lustful, and seedy. Ultimately, the feeling is hopeful when the melody returns. The synth lines, singy backing vocals and bouncy tribal beat morphed this song in the studio. Wishing is transcending."
Wishing is a mellow piece with a kaleidoscopic psychedelic character which once again interweaves genres and draws attention to the band's songwriting abilities.
