Down The Lees: Cells

As part of Bandcamp's second fundraiser which occurred on May 1st, 2020, Belgian slowcore trio, Down The Lees, released Cells, a previously unheard track from the sessions of their very good recent album, Bury The Sun, which they recorded at Chicago's Electrical Audio with Steve Albini.

A little rawer and coarser than the regular album cuts, the song comes carrying that characteristic fervency that the band established through their previous works. It's an ardent, grunge-bent slowcore piece which lays bare a stunning performance from the band on a vocal as well as instrumental level. The song once more evens up Down The Lees' graceful quietness with strong outbursts, and leaves the impression of being more than just a common outtake.
