The Ninth Wave: Flower Into Wounds

Off their debut album, Infancy, released late 2019 through Distiller Records, Glasgow band, The Ninth Wave's Flower Into Wounds draws inspiration from a quintessential piece of modern literature, borrowing its title from the opening line of a chapter in J. G. Ballard’s Crash.

The track now comes with the just unveiled, uncanny accompanying video, directed by BAFTA winner, Joern Utkilen, keeping the band's custom of coming up with strong aesthetics for their fine synthesis of post punk and new wave sounds.

"The video is a meditation on suburban living expressed through a surreal interpretation of Cronenberg’s Crash," the band say of the new clip, "all inspired by the lyrics of Flower Into Wounds. Joern Utkilen, Amelia’s uncle, directed the video and helped us present the essence of the song visually."

The Ninth Wave are about to embark on a Scottish headline tour in March.
