SPRINTS: The Cheek

Confronting the essence of airheaded behavior head on, especially in relation to sexuality, the very fresh, The Cheek is the new, second single by Dublin-based post punk band, SPRINTS.

Using its lyrical wit, crafty sarcasm and the directness of the band's rousing delivery as its main virtues, the new song is an explosive punk ace which strikes with vitality and further establishes the auspicious quartet as one of the prospering new acts in this currently developing Irish post punk revival.

SPRINTS are composed of Karla Chubb, Colm O’Reilly, Sam McCann and Jack Callan, and The Cheek is the follow up to their prominent introductory single, Pathetic, which came out in April 2019.

"Whether they think they own the place, or think they own you, we are all too familiar with those dickheads at the bar," the band's expressive vocalist, Karla Chubb comments on the song. "Male or female, I know a lot of friends have shared the same experience. To have your sexuality, or your worth questioned, to be berated or harassed for turning someone so ‘impeccable’ down, is an unfortunately too regular occurrence."
