The Empty Page: He's Very Good At Swimming

Following the fuzzy dynamite that was their previous single from last February, Manchester trio, The Empty Page, return with another smashing piece which showcases a change of gears, and a bit of a different direction for the rising band.

He’s Very Good At Swimming is dealing with the subject of rape, the victim blaming and everything else unnecessary and absurd that comes in its aftermath. On these grounds the song carries equal amounts of bitterness and fury, juxtaposing moments of both toned down melodiousness and aggravated heat.

The single was recorded with Simon Ding Archer (PJ Harvey, Pixies, The Fall) in Manchester, and despite its harsh and disturbing concept, it immediately rises as another prime example of The Empty Page's sharpness, and their gutsy, yet, cultivated artistry.
