Hugar: Ró / Órói

Having worked alongside fellow Icelandic pioneers, Björk, Sigur Rós, Ólafur Arnalds and Jóhann Jóhannsson, consistently emerging duo, Hugar, are no strangers to fans of highly artistic, cinematic, neo-classical-inclined post rock. The band have signed to Sony Music Masterworks through which they'll be delivering their anticipated second album, Varða, on August 23rd, 2019.

Late last year the duo released Saga, which they have followed with the paired release of and Órói.

"The songs explore the contrasts between order and disorder – Ró being order and Órói disorder," they describe. "Growing up in Iceland, you experience extremes of nature in everyday life, walking to school in a snow blizzard and riding your bike in the calm midnight sun. The songs are our attempt to put our everyday experiences into sounds."

's beautiful ambiance and minimalism comes attached to a captivating visual, part of a series of videos that examines the relationship between humans and the environment. Like the music itself, the clip is clear and intelligible, riveting and profound.

Hugar are instrumentalists and musicians, Bergur Þórisson and Pétur Jónsson.
