Torche: Slide

A heavy blend of progressive, noise rock and stoner metal, Slide is the introductory single to Admission, the upcoming  fifth album by reliable heavy rock act, Torche, which comes out July 12th. 2019 via Relapse Records.

The new piece finds the experienced band in a completely revitalized form, with an updated lineup that includes Jon Nuñez shifting from bass to guitar, Eric Hernandez from Wrong on bass. Steve Brooks on guitar and vocals, and Rick Smith on drums.

"This album is more revealing of who we are. I think the core of the band is happier and more inspired than we have been in some time, and we’ve got somebody new who’s excited to be a part of it. It’s just refreshing. It feels right. It feels real," says Nuñez who also produced the entire LP.

"Slide is one of the first songs Eric came to the table with, fully realized and arranged," explains Rick Smith. "Eric is a total beast of a songwriter. I suggested he use the first three Gary Numan records as inspiration and he came back at us with some melodically sound material that nailed the Torche vibe."
