Guest Singer: My Parallel

Led by Doncaster’s Jake Cope and including Paul Burdett and France Lahmar, forward-thinking art pop act, Guest Singer, will be releasing their debut EP, I’m Irrelevant Now, on March 22nd, 2019 via Heist or Hit.

Superb cut, My Parallel, extracts its resolute energy from vivid sounds evocative of motorik krautrock from the mid-seventies, as well as elegant synthpop, presented through a charming, completely analog approach, while its lyrics explore modern philosophy and come full of existential qualities.

"My Parallel has duel meanings," Jake Cope reveals about the ideas behind the song. "The first concerns the notion of what could have been – what would I be doing right now had I taken a particular opportunity? The second looks at the presentation of self. How we re-skin our personalities to fit whatever social interactions we find ourselves part of."

I’m Irrelevant Now finds Guest Singer teaming up with producer Matt Peel (Eagulls, Pulled Apart By Horses, Menace Beach).
