Meat Puppets: Warranty

The Kirkwood brothers approach sixty years of age. Almost forty of those they have been making history as Meat Puppets, one of the most influential indie rock bands of all time, whose unique fusion of punk, psychedelia and Americana defined the grunge movement that arose almost ten years after their formation, and influenced dozens of noteworthy acts.

Meat Puppets have been on and off a few times, and they have released fifteen albums under miscellaneous lineups. The upcoming Dusty Notes comes out March 8th, 2019 via Megaforce, and it is their first fill length since 2013's Rat Farm, and the first to reunite Curt and Cris Kirkwood with original drummer, Derrick Bostrom since No Joke! from 1995, while the band's current roster is completed with Curt’s son, Elmo, as well as keyboardist Ron Stabinsky.

Warranty, the first song from the coming record, is a nice example of the band's lively, punk-infused Americana sound, maybe not as innovative as their groundbreaking material from the eighties, still, pretty impressive for a forty year old band with such a weighty and rich background.
