Dolls: Sugar Free

With a forceful grunge/garage/punk sound given through a more soulful approach, and with an EP's worth of material on the way, London-based duo, Dolls, sound riveting and relentless on their new and forthcoming work.

Comprised of Jade (guitar and vocals) and Bel (drums and vocals), Dolls have just unveiled the lead single, Sugar Free, off their upcoming Pop The Bubble EP. produced by Bad Seed, Jim Sclavunos himself, whose previous credits as a producer include The Horrors, The Wytches and Du Blonde.

"It was a spontaneous song that came out of Jade's improvised guitar riff," says the band's drummer, Bel. "When we were writing lyrics I had a sugar free drink and started thinking how people can get so pissed off when they ask for diet coke and get regular. So it represents those kind of first world problems and concerns about how our worst nightmare could be something so shallow that it's just ridiculous."

Pop The Bubble EP will be out through the notorious soundtrack labels Mondo/Death Waltz on a beautiful limited edition multi-coloured and etched vinyl LP and digital.
