D//E Playlist: Stream And Destroy Vol. 7

Stream And Destroy Vol. 7 is comprised of a dozen tracks, powered by submissions and highlight tracks, some released earlier in the year, to which D//E grooved during June 2018.

LA's The Nova Darlings come up with a smart, wistful and intriguingly titled tune which feels like the perfect opener for a summer playlist, presenting the band's garage-inclined indie approach.

New Luna keep up the consistency with another solid single, while the multi-talented Woozles, aka Conor Ryan, presents the more indie Americana side of his genre challenging artistry with a great cut off his coming third album, kidz bopz vol. 666.

The super gritty DIY hardcore punk of TRVS PRKNS from their debut EP sounds promising and downright forceful, while another DIY outfit, Seattle's Dismal Thinkings offer an excellent mixture of noise rock, slowcore and lo-fi through a brilliant, venturous piece off their forthcoming debut full length.

It seems like we'll be hearing much more from Australia's Death Bells in the months to come, as the exciting post punk band is constantly gaining a lot of popularity for all the right reasons. That may also be the case for Californian shoegazers, Soft Science who have just released a beautiful album, wearing their influences on their sleeves, and carrying them out gracefully.

The brilliant Film School keep going strong after all these years, delivering great singles, and even teasing with a new album release, their first in eight whole years, scheduled for Fall 2018.

Then there's the huge influence Mazzy Star have always had in the world of dreampop, implicit in new works like the latest albums by Tape Waves, Holy Motors and La Luz, all three of which have devised some of the most impressive pieces of music the genre has seen this year.

The vintage qualities in the charming, swinging, garage rocking sound of Shannon and the Clams, despite the band's reputation, will always feel criminally underrated. On their latest offering, Onion, the Oakland four-piece sounds stronger than ever.
