Makeout Point: Audrey

Audrey is only the fourth single by Swedish quintet Makeout Point in the brief time that they exist as a band. Despite their still young existence though, they have already made quite an impression with everything that preceded this new single, and raised hopes for what it seems like it's going be a bright future for the band.

For a style of their own which they describe as "indie violence", the band draws influence from C86 indie pop, dreampop and shoegaze, 4AD and more specifically acts like Pixies, The World is a Beautiful Place & I am No Longer Afraid to Die, Big Black, My Bloody Valentine and Slowdive, to name only a few.

On Audrey the Stockholm five-piece present a more psychedelic pop side of theirs, more ethereal, always heavy on reverb, and still dreamlike; founded on the band's tenacity and vocalist Shiva Kazemi's rousing vocal performance.

The rest of Makeout Point's roster consists of Alma Broman on bass, Andreas Gustafsson and Theo Brus on guitars, and Simon Hjort on drums.
