The First Law of Thermodynamics is the new single by Stockholm occult-infused heavy rockers, The Presolar Sands, whose amazing debut, Det Stora Oväsendet, inspired by the infamous Witch Hunts of the 17th century emerged quite impressively in the heavy rock scene last year.
The new song expands its memorable, tough hook into a massive whirl of doom and psychedelia, strongly reminiscent of the good old obscure hard rock of the seventies without holding back none of the band's instinctive, raw energy.
About its them and structure the band states: "It is possible to relate to the first principle of thermodynamics when it feels that everything is perishable and nothing has an opinion. It means that energy can not be created or destroyed, but constantly transforms into something new. In principle, it is a more abstract variation of reincarnation, though it is not rooted in religion but in science. We often return to this thematic. Inquire that everything is star dust that just takes shape. Our band name is a blink to it too.
We recorded the song live together, which felt totally awesome. It made room for us to find something we have live, and also enabled the improvisation part that forms the second part of the song."
